Intellij SFCC for JetBrains IDEs is a paid plugin sold on JetBrains Marketplace, where it is listed as Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC). JetBrains handles the purchase, the trial and the license

Install the plugin
Install Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC) from Settings › Plugins › Marketplace and restart, see Installation
Open B2C Explorer
Without a license it shows "Plugin access is unavailable" and a Check Activation button
Open the license dialog
Click Check Activation. While there is no license, it opens the IDE's license dialog with Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC) selected under Plugins. If you open it with Help › Register..., select the plugin in the list
Sign in or start the trial
Under Activate Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC), get the license from JetBrains Account (sign in with the account that holds it), from an Activation code or from your organization's License server, then click Activate. To try the plugin first, select Start trial and click Start Trial
Restart the IDE
B2C Explorer comes back on its own at the next license check, or right away when you click Check Activation again. Restart the IDE so the editors, completion, Auto Upload and the debugger pick it up too
The plugin checks the license a minute after the IDE starts and then every five minutes, so a renewed or newly assigned seat is found on its own
What needs a license
The plugin's features need an active license or trial: B2C Explorer, uploads and deploys, completion and navigation in scripts, ISML, JSON and form XML, the B2C Entry Points tab of Search Everywhere, the Code Vision lenses, the debugger and the Pipeline Editor. A few helpers, such as B2C Credentials and linking cartridges, keep working, so you can prepare a project before you activate
Your accounts, connections and linked cartridges stay saved while the license is inactive
Manage your subscription
- Personal license: renew, cancel or download invoices in your JetBrains Account
- Organization seats: your JetBrains Account administrator assigns and revokes seats. A developer who changes teams keeps the plugin only while a seat is assigned to them
- Which license the IDE uses: Help › Register..., then Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC) under Plugins
Troubleshooting
