WebDAV Explorer

Browse, download, upload, zip and clean remote instance files from B2C Explorer

Below every connection, B2C Explorer shows the instance's WebDAV folders: code versions, logs, IMPEX, catalogs and more. You browse them like a project tree, open remote files in the editor, and drop local files onto a folder to upload them. Operations on several files run in parallel

B2C Explorer shows every connection with its ten WebDAV roots. Log names are coloured by level, and the context menu downloads, renames, compresses or clears files in place

Root folders

Each connection has ten roots. A folder shows its child count and when it was last updated, files show their date and size, and empty folders show "<Empty>"

RootWebDAV folderNotes
Code versions/CartridgesOne folder per code version. The active one on the instance is marked "[Active on instance]", see Deploy Code
Log Files/LogsLog names are coloured by level. See Log Files
Security Log Files/SecuritylogsNo new folders, rename, zip, unzip, clear or drops
IMPEX/ImpexImport and export files
Temp/TempTemporary files
Realm Data/RealmdataRealm level data
Organization Static Content/StaticStatic files shared by all sites
Catalogs /Catalogs/<id>Empty until you add a catalog ID
Content Images (Library) /Libraries/<id>Empty until you add a library or site ID
Velocity Templates/Dynamic/<site>Empty until you add a site ID

Add catalogs, libraries and Velocity sources

WebDAV can't list catalogs, libraries or Velocity folders, so you add the ones you need by ID. Right-click the root and choose Add Catalog ("Enter Catalog ID"), Add Library ("Enter Library ID or Site ID") or Add Velocity Templates Source ("Enter Site ID"). The IDs are saved per host, so they come back the next time you open the connection

Work with remote files

Double-click a file to download it to a temporary folder and open it in the editor. Right-click a folder or file for everything else

The tree also answers the IDE's own Delete, Rename, Refresh and New shortcuts. The tool window title bar has Collapse All, and the toolbar has Refresh B2C Explorer to reload every connection

Upload files

There is no upload item in the menu. Files reach the server in two ways:

  • Drag and drop: drop local files or folders onto a remote folder to upload them. Dropping remote items onto another folder in the same root moves them. Drops into Security Log Files are refused
  • Bulk File Upload: right-click a folder, add files or folders with +, then upload. Use it for large batches
Bulk File Upload settingDefaultWhat it does
Concurrent Threads5How many files upload at the same time
Override Existing FilesOffOn: replace files with the same name. Off: skip them

To upload your cartridges, use Upload & Auto Upload or Deploy Code instead. They know which cartridge goes to which code version

Right-click a remote folder and choose Bulk File Upload. Add local files or folders with +, set how many upload at the same time and whether files with the same name are overridden, then click OK
