Refund Policy
Understand the difference between canceling and receiving a refund, the 14-day Paddle request deadline for VS Code purchases, and JetBrains Marketplace's separate refund process.
Start with where you purchased
- VS Code through Paddle:submit an accidental-charge, billing-error, or Product issue request promptly. Paddle's discretionary request window is 14 days; mandatory consumer remedies may use a different deadline. Paddle reviews eligibility and processes approved refunds.
- JetBrains Marketplace: request the refund directly from JetBrains. Its currently published windows are 30 days for annual Subscriptions and perpetual plugin Licenses, and 7 days for monthly Subscriptions.
- Consumer rights: any longer or non-waivable right under applicable law still applies.
Scope and purchase channels
This Refund Policy explains when a payment for an Intellij SFCC License or Subscription may be refunded, how to cancel future renewals, and where to submit a request. The process depends on the channel through which you purchased the Product.
- VS Code purchases through Paddle.
- Subscriptions purchased through the Intellij SFCC website for the VS Code extension are sold and billed by Paddle, our merchant of record and authorized reseller.
- JetBrains Marketplace purchases.
- Licenses purchased for JetBrains IDEs through JetBrains Marketplace are sold, billed, and refunded by JetBrains under JetBrains' own purchase and refund rules.
This policy works together with our Terms of Use, the terms shown at checkout, and the terms of the applicable seller. If a seller's policy or mandatory law gives you greater rights, those greater rights apply.
VS Code purchases through Paddle
Paddle is the seller and merchant of record for VS Code purchases made through our website. Paddle processes the payment and any approved refund under the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy. We can investigate Product issues and recommend or agree to a refund, but Paddle validates the request, makes the refund decision, and processes any approved amount.
Request within 14 days
If a VS Code purchase or renewal was accidental, duplicated, charged incorrectly, or you want Paddle to consider another discretionary reason, contact us or Paddle no later than 14 calendar days after the charge. Paddle reviews each request individually; submitting it within the window does not guarantee approval.
A request may qualify when:
- an accidental purchase or renewal, duplicate payment, or incorrect charge is reported within 14 calendar days;
- a material technical defect or failure to deliver the Product prevents access to advertised core functionality and remains unresolved after a reasonable support attempt, in which case the deadline and remedy required by applicable consumer law apply;
- applicable consumer law gives you a right to withdraw or another mandatory remedy;
- Paddle accepts another exceptional case under its discretionary refund process.
Paddle may consider the reason for the request, transaction and usage records, whether the Product has been accessed or consumed, and signs of fraud or abuse. Paddle may approve a full or partial refund or decline the request. Once 14 calendar days have passed, Paddle's discretionary window has ended, but any non-waivable statutory right still applies.
Statutory withdrawal and consumer rights
Consumer-protection laws in your country may give you rights that cannot be excluded by this policy. These can include a cooling-off period for some online transactions and remedies when a digital Product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.
Paddle's current country-specific rules provide a 14-day withdrawal period for certain qualifying transactions by consumers in the European Union, EEA, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Israel, and different statutory periods in some other countries. Whether a right applies can depend on the type of transaction, whether it is the first Subscription payment or a later renewal, whether a trial ended, and whether you expressly asked for and began using digital content or services during the withdrawal period. Review the current Paddle Refund Policy for the rules that apply to your transaction.
Mandatory rights always remain
Nothing in this policy limits a mandatory refund, withdrawal, repair, price-reduction, or other remedy available under applicable consumer law. Statutory consumer rights generally do not apply in the same way to purchases made for business purposes.
JetBrains Marketplace refunds
JetBrains Marketplace handles payment processing, invoicing, cancellations, and refunds for JetBrains IDE purchases. Divetek does not receive or control your payment method and cannot issue, approve, guarantee, or decline a JetBrains Marketplace refund.
JetBrains' current request windows
- Annual Subscriptions: a request may be submitted within 30 days of the purchase date.
- Monthly Subscriptions: a request may be submitted within 7 days of the purchase date.
- Perpetual plugin Licenses: a request may be submitted within 30 days of the purchase date.
These windows are published by JetBrains and may change. JetBrains' policy in force for your purchase and applicable mandatory law determine eligibility. To request a refund, contact JetBrains Sales Supportand include your order reference, invoice number, or other purchase details. See JetBrains' refund guidance for the current rules.
How to request a refund
For a VS Code purchase through Paddle
- If the Product is not working as described, first email [email protected] so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue.
- From the email address used for the purchase, submit the request to [email protected], use the link in your Paddle receipt or Account billing area, or contact Paddle Buyer Support within the applicable deadline. We can investigate and recommend a resolution; Paddle makes the final decision and processes any refund.
- Include the purchaser's email address, transaction or Subscription reference, charge date, reason for the request, and relevant error details or evidence.
For a JetBrains Marketplace purchase
Contact JetBrains Sales Support within JetBrains' applicable deadline and include the order reference or invoice number. Technical questions about the plugin can still be sent to [email protected].
Contact the applicable seller before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute. This often resolves the issue faster and avoids an unnecessary suspension while the transaction is investigated. This request does not limit any lawful right to dispute an unauthorized or invalid charge.
Canceling a Subscription
You may cancel a recurring Subscription at any time. Unless the applicable seller tells you otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, access continues until then, and no further renewal charge is taken. Cancellation and a refund request are separate: cancel the Subscription to prevent renewal, and submit a refund request if you believe the latest charge qualifies under this policy.
VS Code Subscription
Use the Manage subscription link in your Paddle receipt or confirmation email, the billing controls made available in your Intellij SFCC Account, or Paddle Buyer Support.
JetBrains Marketplace Subscription
Manage or cancel the Subscription through your JetBrains Account or the purchase-management method provided by JetBrains. Divetek cannot cancel a Marketplace Subscription on JetBrains' behalf.
Cancellation does not submit a refund request
If you want both to stop renewal and ask for the latest charge to be reviewed, complete both actions within the applicable request window.
What happens when a refund is approved
- the applicable seller decides whether the refund is full or partial and returns it to the original payment method where possible;
- Paddle states that an eligible refund is processed within 14 days after approval, although your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display it;
- access to the refunded Product ends and the related License, Seats, and Subscription entitlements may be deactivated immediately;
- a discretionary refund does not create a right to a refund for any later or similar purchase.
Changes and contact
We may update this Refund Policy as our Products, purchase channels, or applicable rules change. We will revise the updated date on this page when we do. The seller's policy and terms applicable to the transaction remain controlling for that seller's refund process.
