First public release
Work on the plugin for VS Code started in 2024, but because of high load on the projects i wasn't able to finish it properly for two years. But i actively used the plugin on the projects i've worked on and keep add features i needed to speed up the work, investigation, fixing errors etc.
Getting started
Installation process pretty straightforward. See documentation links below:
Install Intellij SFCC for Salesforce B2C Commerce from Visual Studio Marketplace or Open VSX, sign in, and prepare your VS Code workspace
When you install the plugin in VS Code, it will open the Getting Started window. Or you can open it manually via Getting Started button in the status bar:

SFCC MCP
Since we are in AI era now, plugin of course provides AI features BUT plugin was built in the way so you can do A LOT even without AI very fast! Plugin scans your project and provides a lot of contexts and UI elements so you can finish the work much faster than with any other plugins on the market as of today.

Connect your coding agent to SFCC language intelligence, project skills, sandbox operations, logs, and debugging
Pipelines Editor + Debugger
Edit SFCC pipeline graphs, follow scripts and XML references, and debug pipeline nodes in VS Code
Now it's possible to cover FULL work with Pipelines directly in the VS Code. You can even run pipelines debugger!
I'll do a separate post about it, how it was created and how it works.
Pipelines Editor was born out of frustration with working in Eclipse 🙂
It also available in the JetBrains Plugin
TypeScript + Debugger
Build entire SFCC cartridges in TypeScript - full IntelliSense and debugging out of the box, with zero configuration
Another frustration point - Rhino and it's poor JS support in terms of features
I started to experimenting with TypeScript and that's how this feature was born.
TypeScript transpiler built-in into the plugin and done in the way to support properly how Rhino behaves in SFCC.
It was decided to not use import statements but stick with `require`. This is especially important for the controllers. SFCC runs each scripts from scratch on each request, so you need to load and initialize only those modules and scripts which are really part of the current request!
Plugin automatically transpile the TS code and uploads to the sandbox. You don't need to do any configurations for that.
Some of the companies already use TS in their cartridges, but it's not possible properly debug them. But now it is! You just put breakpoint and debug them as regular JS files. There is one downside of that: in the debugger you can see some objects/varibles which were created because of transpile process(proper filtering will be done later), but you can still see the objects and variables you expect to see!
So, plugin allows you to write all your cartridge in TypeScript and minimize the errors, make code much more OOP.
Decorators supported as well!
