Intellij SFCC 2026.3 brings the visual Pipeline Editor and the Cartridge Path Editor to JetBrains IDEs. Follow Salesforce B2C Commerce pipeline flow as a diagram, edit the XML behind it, and set cartridge order without working through one long XML value.
Work with pipelines visually
A pipeline connects nodes and transitions into the flow of a request. The visual editor makes those connections visible inside the IDE, so you can review a flow before changing it.
Open an existing pipeline XML file in your SFCC project and select the Pipeline Editor view. Use the diagram and XML source views together, save your changes back to the pipeline XML, and review the diff before deploying to a development sandbox.
The visual editor requires an IDE runtime with JCEF support and a valid plugin license or trial. If JCEF is unavailable, the XML source editor remains available.
Explore the full Pipeline Editor workflow:
Edit SFCC pipeline XML as a graph, follow scripts, templates and routes, set node breakpoints and keep scrolling smooth
Review the XML diff and test the changed pipeline on a development sandbox before deployment.
Set cartridge order as a list
The Cartridge Path Editor opens the cartridge path in a local site.xml or Business Manager preferences.xml as an ordered list. Click the cartridge icon beside the custom-cartridges element or the CustomCartridges preference to open it.
Drag entries to change their order, add cartridges linked to the project or type a name, and remove entries you no longer need. Names without a matching linked cartridge are marked “Not linked to this project.”
Each change is an undoable edit of the cartridge path value. The rest of the XML stays unchanged. Choose Open XML to inspect the result, save it, and test the site data on a development sandbox.
The gutter action requires a valid plugin license or trial. The guide below covers every action:
Reorder, add and remove the cartridges of a local site.xml or Business Manager preferences.xml as a list, from the gutter icon on the XML element
Cartridge path changes stay in your local XML until you save and deploy or import that file.
Compatibility and reporting
This release adds support for JetBrains IDEs 2026.3 EAP builds. Plugin-attributed exceptions and IDE freezes can be reported through JetBrains Marketplace using the IDE’s consent and reporting preferences.
The previous Sentry integration, startup consent popup, and reporting settings have been removed.
2026.3 also carries forward the 2026.2.1 fixes: debugger startup with linked cartridges no longer requires a selected Site Scope, the Site Scope popup handles a nullable final-step result, and scope-driven index refresh runs off the event dispatch thread.
Update and activate
Once 2026.3 is available for your IDE on JetBrains Marketplace, update Intellij SFCC through Settings → Plugins → Updates and restart the IDE if prompted. Open your SFCC project, then try the Pipeline Editor on an existing pipeline or the Cartridge Path Editor on local site data.
2026.3 is a new paid major release. Your subscription or perpetual license must cover this release. A perpetual fallback license for an earlier major release continues to cover its eligible versions; it does not automatically unlock 2026.3.
